ABOUT US

The Electrical/Electronic Engineering Students’ Association (ELEESA) is the official student body representing all students within the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Takoradi Technical University (TTU).

ELEESA exists to promote academic excellence, professional development, unity, and a strong sense of community among its members. It serves as a platform for advocacy, innovation, and collaboration, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world engineering practice.

Through seminars, industrial field trips, workshops, mentorship programs, and technical competitions, ELEESA empowers students to explore the vast fields of electrical and electronic engineering while developing essential leadership and interpersonal skills. The association also fosters strong relationships with faculty, industry professionals, and sister associations across the country.

ELEESA operates on the values of discipline, teamwork, integrity, and service, and continues to grow as a vibrant hub of aspiring engineers equipped to shape the future of technology and power systems.

departmental orientation

This annual program serves to formally initiate newly admitted Electrical/Electronic Engineering Undergraduates (Freshers) into the Department. This event features the Head of Department (H.O.D.), various departmental lecturers, Alumni, and the ELEESA Executives, among others. The orientation is designed to introduce and induct the Freshers by:

Fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Giving them the rules of the institution and the department.

Introducing them to the faculty, facilities, and academic programs.

open forum

The ELEESA-TTU Open Forum was the second major event of our term. Held once every semester, this platform brings together students from all departmental programs (Dip-Tech, HND, B-Tech).

The forum is a unique opportunity for students to voice issues they’ve encountered since the start of the academic year, spanning concerns related to well-being, academics, and professional matters. To ensure students feel comfortable, the meeting is held in the absence of all lecturers but in the presence of the Head of Department (H.O.D.) and the ELEESA Executives.

Students are encouraged to ask questions and offer opinions freely. For those who are shy, an anonymous platform is provided to submit concerns, guaranteeing that every issue is addressed.

industrial field trip

The ELEESA-TTU 24/25 administration successfully organized the first-ever Industrial Field Trip for the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department, breaking a long-standing norm. This significant event, dubbed the TICO Experience, involved a journey to the TAQA Generation International Operating Co. LLC (Takoradi International Company [TICO]). The field trip was invaluable because it bridged the gap between classroom theory and real-world industrial practice.
